THE BIRTH OF A LEGEND
1887
From the very beginning, brandy was produced using classical French technology
Brandy production in Armenia was founded in 1887 by the merchant of the first guild Nerses Tairyan in Yerevan at the first winery, built ten years earlier on the territory of the former Yerevan fortress. At the improved factory two fire distillation apparatuses were installed for brandy spirit smoking.

The smoking and the direct production of brandy were carried out using classical French technology, since French brandy, which by that time had almost a century and a half history, had already gained well-deserved fame and popularity.
BRANDY OF SHUSTOV
1899
Nikolai Leontievich Shustov expands the production and conducts a wide advertising campaign
In 1899 Nerses Tairyan sells the plant to the “Nikolai Shustov and Sons” Trade and Industrial Partnership.

Nikolai Leontievich Shustov expands the production and conducts a wide advertising campaign: advertisements of Shustov brandy can be seen on steamships, airships, horse-drawn carriages and even on the first Moscow tram.

In 1893 to 1894 three more new brandy factories were built in Yerevan, and in 1914 the number of brandy factories in Armenia reached up to 15.

The Shustovs' enterprise developed rapidly - the owners quickly realized that the Ararat Valley was an ideal place for growing grapes, developing winemaking and brandy production

THE GOLDEN AGE
OF ARMENIAN BRANDY
1918
ARMENIA PROVIDED MORE THAN 25% OF BRANDY PRODUCED IN THE USSR
Due to the growth of the raw material base and the need to expand brandy production, almost all Armenian wineries were obliged to smoke alcohol.

Classic technology, the right combination of high-quality local grape varieties grown in the favorable climatic conditions of the Ararat Plain, ensured the popularity of Armenian brandy throughout the USSR.
ARCON
2015
The best brandy spirits of the Ararat Valley
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Armenia's huge wine-making complex found itself in deep depression. Only in the late 90s a few companies producing Armenian brandy began to appear.
The situation changed greatly in the 2000s, when the demand for Armenian brandy in Russia began to grow sharply.

Company Arcon began its existence with the purchase of a significant reserve of the best brandy spirits from the Ararat Valley, some of which were aged during the Soviet era. Just these spirits formed the basis of the company’s brandy.
